Internship details

Title: Editorial and Advertising Intern

Number available: 1 per quarter/semester

Duration: Quarterly

Application due date: Always open

Responsibilities:

1. Assist staff with editorial work load by maintaining the Jersey calendar (print and online); show and sale reports monthly; writing news shorts on current events; and maintaining editorial photo files.
2. Intern will assist with advertising sales and ad design on as-needed basis.
3. Aid in updating and design of the Jersey Journal website and breeder websites.
4. Work with staff on the development of the Jersey Directory.

Qualifications:

1. College/university student in good academic standing, majoring in dairy/animal science, ag communications/marketing/public relations.
2. Excellent computer skills: Adobe PageMaker and Photoshop experience needed; Front Page, Microsoft Word and Excel skills desired.
3. Working knowledge of registered cattle business, Jersey breed and AJCA online services desirable.
